1 1 1 1 The 450° celebrations of Monteverdi's birth - May events Celebrations for the 450th anniversary of the birth of Claudio Monteverdi (Cremona May 9, 1567 - Venice November 291643) envisage a dense calendar of events to be held at the San Marco Procuratorate, the Basilica of the Frari and the Great Schools of Venice as in Venice he was a major composer. Chapel Master at St. Mark's Basilica, organist and composer for the Scuola Grande di San Rocco, made Venice a venue for musical experimentation in the great sacred and civil festivals.
On May 13, at the  Scuola Grande di San Rocco at 17.00, the postcard will be presented with a special cancellation, prepared by Poste Italiane. At 6.30 pm on the same day, scholar David Bryant from the Ca 'Foscari University will attend the conference "Monteverdi and Venice". At 7p.m. the grand finale with the concert on the music of the Master, performed by the orchestra "L. da Ponte" and "Venice International Academy" directed by R.Zarpellon with the contribution of Baritone M. Borgioni.
The next day, May 14, at the end of May events, in the Church of San Rocco at 11 am, the Holy Mass will be celebrated accompanied by the music of Mass IIa of the "Morale and Spiritual Selva".
