1111All the light in the world: Werner Bischof at the Casa dei Tre Oci, Giudecca, from 22 September
An anthology dedicated to Swiss photojournalist Werner Bischof at Casa dei Tre Oci. Bischof began his career as a fashion photographer in the early 1940s, up until the day war changed him. He leaves the glamorous world of haute couture to document post-World War II Europe and the end of colonialism. He travels to India, Japan, Korea, Indochina, Panama, Chile, Peru, and more to take intense, heart-wrenching photographs of excellent documentary and aesthetic value. Henri Cartier-Bresson, the founder of Magnum agency which Bischof joined in 1949, commented on how, in Bischof's pictures, even the deepest misery shines. 250 of them will be on display at Tre Oci, of whom 20 rare views of Italy.
