The catalogue of the Thys de Castella collection of musical instruments will be presented in world preview by the author Emiliano Marinucci on the 22nd of July at 7 pm at the Museum of the Music in Venezia Campo San Maurizio (www.museodellamusica.com/en). The collection has over 100 instruments and paintings on musical subject, creating a unique "wunderkammer" of extravagant sounds and shapes. The curator will follow the instruments in an itinerary trough baroque Europe with notes on the relationship between the instrument's developement and music.Fascinating tales of passion and uniqueness.
Concert with the ensemble Interpreti Veneziani playing on rare instruments from the collection at 9pm in San Vidal.Featuring violins by F. Pique (1810), G. Taningard (1710), E. Guerra (1930), and a fantastic viol like shaped cello by Richelme (1870).
A unique opportunity of hearing and learning about this collection from the curator in person in teh fantastic setting of the Museum of the Music that is house of the Versari collection with a display of antique instruments in a fabulous setting just a few blocks from S. Mark's square.The evening will be a complete journey through baroque extravagant instruments and sounds. A unique experience with an exceptional group of soloists (Interpreti Veneziani) in an all Vivaldi program.
