1111Scala Contarini del Bovolo - The Music Room
The Sala della Musica (Music Room) belongs to the complex of the Ospedaletto, together with the Church of Santa Maria of Derelitti, designed by Palladio. These places were renowned for the musical tradition until the end of 1700. It was completely frescoed by Jacopo Guarana, the greatest interpreter of Tiepolo's art, and Agostino Mengozzi-Colonna, the author of trompe l'oeil paintings intermixed with the architectural structures of the room. We can admire some frescoes of the choir members, portrayed while they are playing and listening to music (as was the custom of the time in the 'ridotti' of the theaters or in Venetian palaces), with their master Pasquale Anfossi.
